The guest farms DonaMaría is one of the oldest examples of so-called "das agras houses" of the Galician region of Ordes (A Coruña).It is believed that its origins are attached to nearby Romanesque church of San Paio of Looking.
The home sits in the path of one of the oldest pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela: the English Way. Its origins are earlier, since it is from Camino Real Madrid to A Coruña since 1761 and overlaps with the Roman road Via XX Braga (Bracara Augusta) Astorga (Asturica Augusta).
